This article, Local Curriculum in the schools of Mozambique: theoretical strategies and methods in the construction de local knowledge, discusses the processes of producing, making legitimate and integrating local knowledge into the national curriculum of the schools of Mozambique. Local knowledge is made up of experiences that people live daily. These experiences constitute a basis for local learning techniques and are fundamental in the reduction of the distance between scientific culture and local culture. This study of the local curriculum consisted in gathering and systematizing oral depositions given by natural and resident witnesses in the districts of Magude (Motaze), Manhiça (Calanga) e Matutuine. Therefore, the article analyses the ways in which the populations of those districts construct their relationships, cultures, histories and traditional institutions, and the way in which these give meaning to their lives. The objective of the study is to construct a theoretical technical reference for approaching the local curriculum in the Pedagogic University.Downloads
