A liderança na educação a distância: perspectiva para uma gestão em tecnologias da informação

This article aims to reflect on the distance education leadership exer‐ cised by the information technology manager. The modality of distance education has been growing rapidly requiring well qualified professionals to manage the entire diversity of people and ideas present in this kind of education. As leadership is a topic widely studied in business, it was sought to delineate in parallel its performance in distance education searching for highlighting a type of leader who best fits the information technology manager to work in this ar‐ ea. It’s not a proposal of this article to give solutions or ready‐recipes, but to understand and expose the views of some authors who have studies on the sub‐ject. The data were collected through exploratory and descriptive research, in which was searched, during the literature investigation, to find answer to what are the features or styles of leadership that can help an Information Technology manager to conduct the distance education. The research results suggest that leadership style to be applied is based on the Hersey and Blanchard model.Downloads
