In this article, we present an excerpt from a master's degree research that is based on the theoretical assumptions of Critical Mathematics Education and Field Education. One of the specific objectives of this research is to understand how projects based on landscapes of investigation can contribute to critical learning in Field Education. To achieve this objective, we carried out participant research in which we developed two landscapes of investigation in a 3rd year elementary school class at a municipal school located in the rural area of a town in the interior of Bahia. In this article we bring data produced with the development of one of the landscapes of investigation. We clarify that by carrying out our participant research, we understand, in the light of Paulo Freire, that, in Field Education, the landscapes of investigation in mathematics classes provide the exercise of citizenship by democratizing the possibility of the naturalness of mathematics as a condition of be in the world.
