Este artigo faz uma breve análise da noção de democracia e de suas espécies, dando ênfase à democracia participativa em seus aspectos positivos e negativos; ou melhor, em seus ideais e naquilo que impede a sua concretização. O tema ganha importância quando se percebe o declínio clarividente da democracia representativa: de um lado, os governantes clamam ser a voz do povo, atuar com o condão de beneficiar a todos, dar efetividade ao princípio democrático; de outro, encontra-se um povo apático, descrente e conformado, que não acredita nas instituições públicas, na política e que não percebe que, se todo poder emana do povo, é dele que há de sair a redenção.Downloads
