Quarantine Policy

The Revista Tangram adopts an author quarantine policy as part of its editorial practices, with the aim of ensuring diversity of voices, institutional plurality, and greater opportunities for different researchers to contribute to the journal.

Purpose

The quarantine policy seeks to prevent excessive concentration of articles from the same author in consecutive issues or within a short period of time, promoting:

  • Greater author representativeness;

  • Strengthening of scientific quality and relevance;

  • Fairness in access to editorial space.

Guideline

Each author may have only one article published per calendar year (January to December) in the Revista Tangram, whether as lead author or co-author.

Application

After the publication of an article, the author or co-author must observe a minimum period of one year before submitting another manuscript for evaluation. Submissions that do not comply with this policy may be rejected during the initial screening, with an explanation to the author regarding the need to wait until the quarantine period ends. This rule applies to all types of articles and extends to all members of the same research group when the same set of authors repeatedly appears in key positions.

Exceptions

Exceptional situations, such as thematic dossiers organized by the journal or formal invitations for special contributions, may be evaluated by the Editorial Board on a case-by-case basis.

Commitment

This policy reinforces the Revista Tangram’s commitment to editorial ethics, academic diversity, and the broad dissemination of knowledge among different researchers and institutions.
