Abstract

The aim of this paper is to present the training of teachers and their schooling spaces in a city from the interior of São Paulo. The purpose is to show howthe mobility of some teachers in the city of Rio Claro was took place, bringing aspects of the local history and proposing from the micro view to understand other contexts. It should be noted that these teachers were sometimes working in public educational institutions -isolated schools and school groups, sometimes in private schools -colleges, institutes, night rooms, subsidized schools, among others, teacher training had an impact on this issue. The research has a time frame from 1890 to 1920. It was possible to verify through research sources of different types the creation of a multiplicity of institutions that offered primary schooling in Rio Claro city. Teachers had frequent mobility in various school spaces due to numerous problems related to working conditions that are still part of the discussions today such as: low wages, lack of didactic material, lack of furniture, lack of adequate physical space classes etc.
