Abstract

This paper inserts Illuminata, by Luzilá Gonçalves Ferreira, into Latin American context, proposing a reading of some selected topics such as: first-person narrative, feminine reading, reception and gender studies. It discusses aspects related to textual genre and social gender and introduces the mother’s writing and the daugther’s correspondent reading, the two narrative voices that compose the work, showing the contrast in comparing the two different views of the world.
