This article reports results of a research that aimed to critically analyze the approach to Personal Financial Management presented by the book collection “Financial Education in Schools - High School”, made available by the Ministry of Education for Brazilian schools. The research, of bibliographic nature, has theoretical support in the sociology of Bauman and in the conceptions of project and communication postulated by Machado, Skovsmose and Penteado. We present a systematization of the empirical material selected and the approach of the categories cost, receipt, planning, savings and credit. We emphasize the themes that cross the content of the material, consumerism and life projects, highlighting the importance of them for thinking about a society where there is room for everyone.Downloads
