Abstract

The literature produced by Latin American authors have raised reflections on this issue as well as on the representation of the female experience present in these fictional universes. This text highlights the short story “Weaving the destiny”, which composes the work Husbands (2007), of the Mexican writer Ángeles Mastretta, focusing on female characters, especially the protagonist Camila. Based on theoretical contributions of the Feminist criticism, this study follows the trajectory of the character who convinced of what she did not want for herself, leaves the village, in search of new living alternatives.
