Abstract

This work aims to guide some communities in the south of Mato Grosso do Sul, as small rural producers, through the use of appropriate techniques aimed at self-sufficiency in food production for the generation of food for work and income, providing sustainability in rural areas. It seeks to guide families to improve the consumption of products as well as the marketing of surpluses, observing measures to use food produced in the area itself. The locations covered by this action are: Amparo settlement, Santa Rosa and Guaçu. Activities will be developed in the areas of social education, implementation of ecosystem restoration models, beekeeping, ecological beekeeping corridor, beekeeping and horticulture. There was good adhesion of farmers to the proposed model. Surplus products, such as vegetables and honey, are being sold through city fairs and events that take place frequently organized by UFGD and sold in the community itself.
