Access to the Pedagogy course at UFGD: an analysis of the relationship between basic education and higher education

Abstract

This article aims to identify the characteristics of candidates for the Pedagogy course at UFGD in 2009, 2010 and 2011, with a view to explaining possible changes that may occur in the characteristics of the socioeconomic composition of these subjects, considering the adoption of the social quota system at UFGD. The methodological procedures adopted were bibliographic research and statistical analyses referring to the database available at the UFGD Selection Center. Given the data analyzed, it can be seen that there was no significant variation in the socioeconomic composition of candidates for the Pedagogy course in 2009, 2010 and 2011. It was found that as the years went by, candidates began to acquire more information and purchasing power, but the socioeconomic profile of these candidates did not change.

Participa do Grupo Estado, Política e Gestão da Educação (GEPGE) e do Grupo de Estudos e Pesquisa em Política e Avaliação da Educação Superior - PAES.
