Notes for the study of the origins of the history of early education in Argentina

The aim of this paper is to revisit some of the issues that marked the history of early education in Argentina in its origins, exploring its main discussions and discourses. The ideas on childhood dealt with in the public and private spheres became especially relevant when this country and Europe began their experience. The tension between care and education has left marks that can be traced back to the colonial experience and that extend to the present.Early education has the legacy of the theories and methods belonging to the pioneers in Western education, whose ideas arrived in the country thanks to Domingo Faustino Sarmiento, central figure in the organization of Argentina´s educational system, devised after the United States´ model.Downloads
