Abstract

In the face of expanding the use of new technologies and distance education, this article aims to analyse the feasibility of deploying a course dis‐ tance of latu census in geography at the riverside community of Santa Maria do Boiaçu – municipality of Caracaraí‐ in state of Roraima. The justification of this work is primarily by choosing a region unknown to most of Brazil, with re‐ duzidíssimas possibilities of access to higher education, and that practically lives on the fringes of technological advances and developmental projects in the area of education, as well as represent a possibility of change of lives of those Brazilians. How methodology developed extensive bibliographical research in relation to the subject discussed, in addition to making several visits in loco the study object region to experience reality. Perhaps can this article contribute to the effectiveness of higher education to the inhabitants of the community, and of the entire region of the baixo Rio Branco.
