Abstract

Cecília Meireles, one of the most prominent brazilian poets, was also a remarkable figure in the Portuguese literary context. Her connection with this country is evident in many ways, both in her personal relationship with Portuguese writers and personalities and in her intense literary production in magazines between the 1930's and the 1950's. Besides that her anthology of Portuguese poetry allows to rebuild her acting/presence in the country, providing also evidences of her dialogue with the Portuguese Modernism. More than pages of poems and critical texts, these productions can be seen then as enduring records from the personal and literary bonds that united Cecilia Meireles to the Portuguese.
