Perception of the environmental management academics of the infrastructure of the State Park of the Várzeas do Rio Ivinhema

The Parque Estadual das Várzeas do Rio Ivinhema (PEVRI) was created with the purpose of implementing programs aimed at the development of ecotourism, but until now these activities have not yet been implemented, so the present study aimed to evaluate the perception of the academics of the Environmental Management course at UFGD regarding the infrastructure of the PEVRI for the development of activities focused on ecotourism. A technical visit was made to the PEVRI on April 21 and 22, 2018 and the following methods were adopted: (1) observation in loco; (2) informal interview with park employee; (3) documentary research and (4) elaboration of the SWOT matrix. It was possible to verify that for the internal environment the forces are smaller than the weaknesses in this way, it is necessary to establish action plans to improve leveraging the forces of the PEVRI. In the external environment the opportunities are greater than the threats highlighting the potential development of ecotourism in the park. However, these action plans must be articulated urgently, so that there is a development, both structural, and of programs and projects for the activities in the PEVRI.Downloads
