Abstract

Academic tutoring is an activity that introduces university students to teaching practices during their undergraduate studies. The University focuses on teaching, research, and extension, emphasizing that future professionals who are being prepared for the job market also have teaching experience as a career option. The objective of this study was to report tutoring experiences in the discipline Learning Psychology, offered as a mandatory discipline in an undergraduate Psychology course in the interior of the state of Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil. The methodological resource used to prepare this work was a non-systematized bibliographic review on the following themes: the importance of tutoring in academic training, the proposal of the discipline Learning Psychology, emphasizing its contribution to professional and academic training, and the tutor's experience. It is observed that monitoring is an opportunity for undergraduates to experience academic activities from another perspective, which goes beyond the condition of a student and can also serve as an additional mediating process between the student body and the teaching staff, especially in practical activities, in order to facilitate learning in the discipline.
