Cooperação e conflito nas relações internacionais: o caso África do Sul e Israel, 1970-2024

Resumo

Este artigo analisa as relações entre África do Sul e Israel de 1970 a 2024. Utilizando fontes primárias e secundárias pertinentes ao tema, argumentamos que, se durante a Guerra Fria as similaridades no que concerne à inserção internacional e regional garantiram um cenário propício à cooperação entre Tel Aviv e Pretória; no pós-disputa Leste-Oeste, enquanto Israel manteve sua política externa sem grandes transformações, a África do Sul passou por mudanças relevantes, destacadamente o interesse por temas e agendas do Sul Global. Esse quadro levou ao distanciamento e ao conflito entre as partes. Tal argumento é sustentado em dois tempos, com cada seção analítica dedicada à compreensão das transformações nas relações entre África do Sul e Israel, respectivamente, durante e após a Guerra Fria.
