Abstract

O presente trabalho procurou compreender as narrativas produzidas pelo Museu de Arte de Santa Catarina sobre sua coleção dentro de um quadro mais amplo de difusão da Arte Moderna. Para tanto, construímos uma análise crítica do acervo na relação entre os sujeitos e as instituições, definidos, respectivamente, como doadores e obras doadas ou adquiridas. O museu em questão tornou-se ímpar para essa questão, na medida em que se transformou no mais bem-sucedido empreendimento de ampliação da arte moderna fora dos centros culturais hegemônicos nos anos 40.
