Cenas do recôncavo: a decadência senhorial na literatura de Anna Ribeiro (1843-1930)

Esse artigo objetiva analisar a obra de Anna Ribeiro de Araújo Góes Bittencourt (1843- 930), em especial as produções da década de 1910. Um cruzamento entre os três contos e os romances produzidos nesse período, sobretudo Letícia (1908a), nos leva a conclusão de que havia uma obsessão da escritora em contar a história da decadência da elite açucareira e escravocrata do Recôncavo baiano, numa perspectiva paternalista. As histórias, as personagens e até mesmo o ambiente que contextualiza as tramas são permeadas por estratégias simbólicas com as quais a autora buscava demonstrar a visão senhorial desse momento histórico.Downloads
