Abstract

The Faculty of Education at UFG celebrated its 55th anniversary in 2023, highlighting its role in training education professionals. In an interview with the director, Prof. Dr. Lueli Nogueira Duarte e Silva, historical, political, and resistance-related issues of the institution were discussed, emphasizing its fundamental contribution to education in Goiânia and Goiás. The FE/UFG plays a crucial role in teacher education, based on the idea of education as a political and social right, with a solid theoretical, practical, and pedagogical foundation, as well as a democratic, inclusive, and socially referenced commitment.
