Abstract

The demand for social relevance in graduate studies has positioned social impact as a central concept in the evaluation debate. Building on this reflection, this article analyzes Impact Cases from the Graduate Program in Geography at Unioeste, Campus de Marechal Cândido Rondon, Paraná (PPGGeo-Unioeste/MCR), organized into three axes: science popularization and educational innovation; knowledge transfer for territorial management; and university extension in defense of socio-environmental rights. The results demonstrate impact through initiatives such as innovation environments (Geo Lab Maker), technical support that enabled a municipality to receive resources from the Ecological ICMS, and extension activities with social movements, which generated products like the Atlas of the Agrarian Question in Paraná. It is concluded that the "border program" identity shapes its vocation for applied knowledge, revealing impact as a two-way process that transforms both external reality and the university itself.
