Interview with Judite Medina do Nascimento: challenges of research and management in island spaces

Professors Luís Ricardo Fernandes da Costa (Universidade Estadual de Montes Claros) and Vládia Pinto Vidal de Oliveira (Universidade Federal do Ceará) recorded an important conversation with Professor Judite Medina do Nascimento, a researcher living in Praia, on the island of Santiago, which is part of the archipelago of Cape Verde, a country located approximately 500 km from the African coast. The interviewee has made important contributions to research, teaching, outreach and management, with emphasis on her time as the Rector of the University of Cape Verde – Uni-CV. She also presents a beautiful account of her education, where she describes her contact with different cultures during her academic journey. Judite Nascimento, a professor who overcame barriers and who continues to contribute substantially to the development of the Cape Verdean archipelago.
