Instrumentalizar la Paz:
el P5 y las operaciones de paz de la ONU en el siglo XXI

El artículo investiga la participación de los cinco miembros permanentes del Consejo de Seguridad (P5) - China, Estados Unidos, Francia, Reino Unido y Rusia - en las operaciones de paz llevadas a cabo por las Naciones Unidas (ONU). Tratamos de perfilar a cada uno de los P5 como contribuyentes de recursos humanos y materiales a las operaciones de paz y señalamos los elementos que ayudan a entender sus patrones de compromiso. De este modo, pretendemos demostrar que, más allá de los intereses por promover la paz, la seguridad y la estabilidad en el sistema internacional en términos generales, la participación política, económica y operativa de los P5 está motivada por diversos objetivos particulares, lo que se traduce en una participación cada vez más selectiva. Este proceso de instrumentación de la paz también parece estar relacionado con la aparición de un nuevo perfil de operaciones, especialmente en la última década, marcado por la lógica de la estabilización. Desde el punto de vista metodológico, el artículo se basará en la investigación bibliográfica y documental y en el análisis de datos cualitativos.
