Os interesses estratégicos do Brasil em Moçambique no início do século XXI

A partir de meados da década de 1990, parte dos países do continente africano passa a viver o chamado “novo renascimento africano”. Inserido neste fenômeno de superação de conflitos, fortalecimento de instituições e retomada do crescimento, Moçambique vem ganhando destaque como “modelo” para os países vizinhos. Neste contexto, o Brasil desenvolve estratégias que incluem o estreitamento de relações com os países africanos, permeado por diversos interesses econômicos, políticos e geopolíticos. Este estreitamento faz parte de uma estratégia mais ampla de política externa, que visa aumento de sua projeção internacional e uma maior multilateralidade do Sistema Internacional. Sob esta perspectiva, o objetivo principal do presente artigo é investigar os interesses estratégicos do Brasil em Moçambique entre os anos 2003 e 2013. A investigação é colocada em prática através da identificação de aspectos como: ações de aproximação diplomática, cooperação para o desenvolvimento, estreitamento de comércio e aumento de investimentos por parte de Brasil no período em questão. Para tanto, algumas das principais referências utilizadas são: Paulo Visentini, José Saraiva, Priscila Berndt, Carlos Milani e Tássia Carvalho, Banco Mundial e Ipea.Downloads
