Abstract

Esse artigo examina os conceitos espaço, paisagem, lugar e identidade, tendo como norte alguns dos clássicos da Geografia Humanística, contrapostos com outras contribuições teóricas. Entende-se que é alta a pertinácia metodológica dos humanistas em pesquisas contra-hegemônicas, nas quais determinados grupos sociais vivem sob ameaças de desterritorialização.Por outro lado, pesquisas nessa perspectiva teórica auxiliam a responder questões relativas à qualidade de vida nas grandes cidades, especialmente nos espaços públicos, geralmente destinados à vivência e usufruto de pessoas e grupos sociais diferenciados.A breve revisão da literatura se fez acompanhar, sempre que possível, de mediações derivadas da presença de aspectos que integram a modernidade capitalista.
