The Cerrado is vital for the existence and work of millions of people. However, its environmental degradation and plunder threaten socio-biodiversity and weaken the cultural resistance of its residents. In basic education, a static and fragmented interpretation of this territory prevails, which limits the possibilities of an integrated understanding, with its dynamics, conflicts, and contradictions. Thus, the Escola do Cerrado Extension Program, created and developed from 2024, within the scope of the activities of the Postgraduate Program in Geography (PPGEO), of the State University of Goiás (UEG), Campus Cora Coralina, Cidade de Goiás (GO), has sought to promote participatory training processes with educators, students and people of the Cerrado. Its actions include courses, workshops, and events that bring schools, universities, and communities together, strengthening socio-environmental education. Therefore, this study aimed to present the extension actions of PPGEO-UEG through the Escola do Cerrado Program and their impacts on basic education in Goiás. The methodology was based on qualitative procedures, including bibliographic review and reports of experiences with various extension project actions. The results are presented in three sections: the first details the origin of PPGEO-UEG as a postgraduate program focused on environmental and territorial research in the Cerrado; the second part characterizes the Escola do Cerrado Extension Program; and the third section systematizes the actions of this extension program during 2024 and 2025.
