Spatial dichotomies in Amazonia: production, conservation and ancestral knowledge

The Amazon jungle has enormous importance for the planet and is home to an incredible amount of biodiversity, and is also home to millions of people. It is an ecosystem full of vegetation, from which various human activities arise, expansion of the agricultural and livestock frontier, putting flora and fauna at risk. This threat means the need to find more environmentally friendly forms of production and the need to curb the use of land for agroindustry. There have emerged alternatives that configure a spatial dichotomy between types of view or conceptions about nature and space, and consequently, of appropriating and using it.
