Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The contribution is original and unpublished, and is not under evaluation for publication by another journal; otherwise, you should justify it in "Comments to editor".
  • The submission file is in Microsoft Word format.
  • URLs for the references were given when possible.
  • The text is 1.5-spaced; uses a 12-point font; Calibri; employs italics instead of underlining (except in URL addresses); figures and tables are inserted in the text, not at the end of the document in the form of appendices.
  • The text follows the style standards and bibliographic requirements described in Author Guidelines, on the About the Journal page.
  • In case of submission to a section with peer review (e.g., articles), the instructions available at Securing blind peer review have been followed.
  • The authors prepared the article using the Template available on the platform, which contains the rules of RBClima.

  • The authors are aware that the article will undergo a first evaluation phase if it does not meet the basic standards contained in the Template, will be sent back to the authors for adaptation.
  • Authors are aware that submissions of articles in a foreign language (English, Spanish or French) must be accompanied by a declaration that the text has been duly reviewed by a professional and/or it must be indicated which author(s) of the manuscript have full command of the language and were responsible for the translation.
  • The authors are aware that foreign language articles must be accompanied by a copy in Portuguese at the time of the submissão, the measure aims to make the magazine bilingual and broaden its access.

TEXT PAGE CONFIGURATION:

- FORMAT: A4 (21cm x 29.7cm).

- MARGINS: 3cm top and left, 2cm bottom and right;

-For articles: 12 (twelve) pages minimum and 25 (twenty) maximum.

-For Research Notes: Maximum of 7 (five) pages.

-For Book Review: Maximum of 5 (three) pages: remembering that for Book Reviews the Cover and Back Cover are not necessary, the text begins with the norms contained in this page onwards.

BODY OF TEXT: Size 12; Space before and after the paragraph: 2 pt; Interlines: 1.5 line. (The body of the text must be in Calibri, size 12). Initial part of the article in which should be included the delimitation of the subject, the objectives of the research and other elements necessary to situate the theme of the article.

TITLES OF TABLES/CHARTFORMS/FIGURES: Size 12; space above the paragraph: 2 pt; space below the paragraph: 2 pt.

Illustrations - Whatever the type of illustration, it must be preceded by its designating word (drawing, schematic, flowchart, photograph, graph, chart, map, organogram, plan, table, picture, portrait, figure, image, among others), followed by its number of order of occurrence in the text, in Arabic numerals, a dash, and its title.

 


TABLE/CHARTBOARD HEADINGS: Size 10; Bold; Space before and after the paragraph: 2 pt.

CONTENTS OF TABLES/CHARTES: Size 10; Space before and after paragraph: 2 pt;

 


CHAPTERS: Size 16; Space after paragraph: 6pt; UPPER CAPITALS;

SUBCHAPTERS: Size 16; Space after paragraph: 6 pt; First letter capitalized;

(The body text should be in Calibri, size 12). The main part of the article, containing an organized and detailed exposition of the subject treated. It is divided into sections and subsections.

LONG DIRECT QUOTATIONS - (The long quotations must be in Calibri, with 4 cm indentation between the paragraph and the left margin, without quotation marks, with simple line spacing and size 10). In all citations of this type, the ABNT NBR 10520 standard should be followed. It is important to mention the last name of the author(s), the year of publication of the item being mentioned and the page from which the excerpt was taken. Example: (BOSI, 1992, p. 309). Space before and after the paragraph: 10 pt; Single line spacing;

Tables - Tables should be cited in the text, inserted as close as possible to the text to which they refer, and standardized according to IBGE's Rules of presentation of tables. The source must be indicated (mandatory element, even if it is the author's own production).

Equations and formulas - To facilitate reading, they must be highlighted in the text and, if necessary, numbered with Arabic numerals in parentheses, aligned to the right. In the normal sequence of the text, it is allowed the use of a longer interline, which accommodates its elements (exponents, indexes and others). Example:

It is recommended that equations be inserted as Figure, to avoid deconfiguration.

(References must be in Calibri, size 12, single spaced). The list of references should be organized in alphabetical order, aligned to the left, separated by a space between references and should follow the ABNT standard, established in the updated NBR 6023. Examples:

IMPORTANT AND ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The article will initially go through a first phase of evaluation, if it does not meet the basic standards contained in this "Template", available on the platform, it will be REJECTED, and after the necessary adjustments a new submission should be made by the authors.
First evaluation guidelines (authors should pay attention to the following items): 1) Complete compliance with the Template; 2) Authors' names should not appear, not even in the figures, tables and correlatives under any circumstances; 3) Author's Notes are mandatory; If any of this information is identified, the article will be immediately REJECTED.
Articles in a foreign language (English, Spanish or French) must be accompanied by a declaration proving that the text has been duly revised by a professional and/or it must be indicated which author(s) of the manuscript has full command of the language and was (were) responsible for the translation. The article must be accompanied by a copy in Portuguese at the time of submission; this is intended to make the journal bilingual and broaden access.
The contribution is original and unpublished, and is not under consideration for publication by another journal.
Before being reviewed, the articles submitted to the Revista Brasileira de Climatologia are checked by CopySpider software for plagiarism. It is the authors' responsibility to ensure the originality of the manuscripts and if they use texts by other authors, these should be properly cited and referenced. Plagiarism in all its forms is an unacceptable and unethical editorial behavior. Upon detection of such situations, the authors will be questioned, and their submissions may be archived. Any identification of plagiarism will cause the submission to be archived and/or the article to be withdrawn from the RBClima.
It is necessary to attach, as SUPPLEMENTARY DOCUMENT 1, a declaration of authors (AUTHOR'S NOTES), in which the contribution of each author is specified, as well as the suggestion of potential reviewers for the work. It is suggested that at least one of the authors is a member of ABClima and is up to date with the association's annuity. Proof of payment of dues must be provided in SUPPLEMENTARY DOCUMENT 2.
