Resumen

El estudio de la geopolítica de las energías renovables consiste en el análisis de cómo las características geográficas y técnicas de estas fuentes pueden remodelar las relaciones energéticas interestatales. Este artículo revisa la literatura internacional sobre la influencia emergente de las fuentes renovables en la geopolítica y analiza el caso brasileño. El objetivo es comprender las implicaciones y oportunidades de la inserción internacional para Brasil en medio de las transformaciones en curso en el escenario energético global. La tesis defendida es que, para la inserción internacional de Brasil en el nuevo contexto geopolítico resultante de la amplia adopción de energías renovables, el país necesita aprovechar las potencialidades de la abundante disponibilidad de recursos energéticos existentes en su territorio y coordinar la integración energética con otros países de América del Sur.
