Abstract

The interviewee is an ambassador and was president of the Association of Brazilian Women Diplomats (AMDB) (2023-2024). Graduated in Law from the University of São Paulo (USP), she began her diplomatic career at the Rio Branco Institute in 1986. In Brazil, she worked in the Africa Department (1986-1991) and, between 1999 and 2004, she was head of the Africa Division II (Southern and Lusophone Africa). Abroad, she was on permanent missions in Lisbon (1991-1994); Luanda (1994-1996); Pretoria (1996-1998); New York (2004-2007), where she followed African issues at the United Nations Security Council; Rome (2007-2011), where she was deputy consul general; and Accra (2011-2017), where she headed the Brazilian Embassy. On provisional missions, she was in Bissau (1988), Lusaka (1989) and Dakar (2002).
