O caso de Claudia Quinta e Magna Mater sob a perspectiva dos estudos do feminino e da religião romana

Magna Mater, deusa de origem antiga da região da Frígia, está presente nas festividades públicas e femininas do mês de abril em Roma. Os romanos domesticaram a versão antiga dessa deusa – Cibele – e a trouxeram para a cidade de Roma, no contexto histórico da II Guerra Púnica (no final do III a.C.). Nesse sentido, Magna Mater vem suprir o papel de grande mãe dos romanos, bem como se destina não apenas aos rituais religiosos femininos, isto é, de matronas romanas, mas também é uma deusa urbana, que abrange os magistrados, os equestres, e grande parte da população romana. É geral e particular. Feminina, quando se destina à Claudia Quinta e a outras ricas matronas, uma ordem social sagrada; e masculina, quando também representa e salvaguarda o jovem futuro homem de Estado.Downloads
