Abstract

Este artigo tem como objetivo analisar as interações espaciais decorrentes das territorialidades estabelecidas entre os comerciantes bolivianos e brasileiros em Corumbá/MS, que juntamente com Ladário/MS (Brasil) e Puerto Quijarro e Puerto Suarez (Bolívia), compõem a Zona de Fronteira Bolívia/Brasil, no estado de Mato Grosso do Sul. Especificamente, buscamos as relações conflituosas inerentes ao uso de um território dotado de flexibilidades que ultrapassam os “limites” do Estado-nação e as normas jurídicas que estabelecem as “marcas” estatais. Para obtenção do que nos propomos a discutir, utilizamos levantamento bibliográfico sobre áreas de fronteira e realizamos um trabalho de campo que consistiu em entrevistar aqueles que estão diretamente envolvidos nas atividades de comércio.
