Abstract

A Ação Integralista Brasileira (AIB), criada pelo intelectual católico Plínio Salgado, ocupou importante papel na política nacional nos anos 1930, pautando seus discursos doutrinários no lema: Deus, Pátria e Família. Em Pernambuco foram fundadas 66 sedes, das quais 12 ficaram entre o Recife e região metropolitana e as demais no interior do estado. A meta deste artigo é analisar as práticas cotidianas desses militantes em uma dessas cidades, no caso, Garanhuns (1935-1937), observando as estratégias de atuação desses nos espaços públicos e privados. As atividades políticas e ideológicas dos membros da AIB, não ficavam restritas às reuniões no núcleo local, mas ganharam as principais ruas e estabelecimentos educacionais e comerciais, contribuindo, assim, para a divulgação e popularização do pensamento integralista entre os garanhuenses.
