Abstract

The purpose of this article is to analyze the relationship between Brazil and Bolivia throughout the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. Strong ties among the cities that compose the Brazil/Bolivia border area, located respectively in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul and Santa Cruz Department, were produced as a result of the narrowings between the two countries. We demonstrate how the geopolitical practices (associated to the transportation sector) of these States approached the people of the border region in question.
