Abstract

Interpretamos geograficamente a dendeicultura na Amazônia paraense. Diferentemente das perspectivas que focam sua rentabilidade, partimos do território usado no sentido de aprofundar o debate. Concebemos essa atividade como evento que assinala um novo tempo na dinâmica territorial do espaço agrário no nordeste paraense. Desde então é possível identificarmos um período geográfico do dendê tornado possível por um conjunto de ações políticas estatais e empresariais que permitiram a formação de territórios da palma e aprofundaram a concentração de terra nas mãos de poucas empresas. Nos lugares sob a influência da dinâmica desse agronegócio vemos a subordinação do território usado às empresas surgir no horizonte traços de um campo sem camponês.
