FRAGMENTAÇÃO SOCIOESPACIAL: PRÁTICAS ESPACIAIS DO CONSUMO SEGMENTADO EM RIBEIRÃO PRETO E PRESIDENTE PRUDENTE

Associadas aos processos de diferenciação e, sobretudo, de segregação socioespacial, dinâmicas de fragmentação socioespacial não são mais exclusivas aos espaços urbanos de padrões metropolitanos e, deste modo, também tendem a se expressar no contexto das cidades médias na medida em que, acompanhando a diversifcação dos conteúdos do anel periférico (no contexto da proliferação de distintos habitat urbanos e de novas áreas centrais), as distâncias socioespaciais entre os citadinos tendem a se expressar não apenas considerando a dimensão habitacional, mas também, estendendo-se ao plano do consumo segmentado do espaço urbano. Análises mais pormenorizadas desses processos (tomando-se, como ponto de partida, as práticas espaciais dos moradores de distintos habitat urbanos) são realizadas considerando duas cidades médias paulistas: Ribeirão Preto e Presidente Prudente.
