Abstract

A questão proposta para este paper será abordada na perspectiva das relações estabelecidas em escolas localizadas em áreas de fronteiras internacionais, situação que confere a estas, características próprias que permeiam a pluralidade cultural, bem como seus desdobramentos em termos de referenciais identitários. Neste sentido, no presente texto, procuramos apontar algumas questões referentes à problemática que envolve as escolas em áreas fronteiriças destacando a necessidade de que esta discussão seja feita em sentido mais amplo, envolvendo a questão da perspectiva monocultural e homogênea que embasa o currículo e grande parte das práticas pedagógicas desenvolvidas no âmbito da escola. A partir desta reflexão e com base em elementos obtidos em pesquisas desenvolvidas com professores de Geografia atuantes em escolas de Ponta Porã (MS), procuramos analisar a inserção desta disciplina neste contexto específico destacando características, limites e possibilidades de contribuição para formação escolar em áreas de fronteira.
