ENSINAR GEOGRAFIA PARA A AUTONOMIA DO PENSAMENTO: O DESAFIO DE SUPERAR DUALISMOS PELO PENSAMENTO TEÓRICO CRÍTICO

O foco deste artigo é o ensino da geografia no campo de pesquisa. As discussões propostas, a fim de defender a necessidade de consolidação, são dirigidas para identificar questões problemáticas cuja compreensão exige um debate mais teórico. Inicial¬mente, são apresentados aspectos específicos da estrutura teórica para a investigação científica disponível hoje, com vista a defender uma matriz crítica como a base da geografia relevante para a compreensão do processo de ensino e aprendizagem nessa área. Além disso, toma-se como base discussões na teoria e na Geografia escolar para demonstrar a contribuição do pensamento crítico descritas anteriormente, revelando alguns riscos na tomada de tais diretrizes sem a atenção adequada aos seus fundamentos. Finalmente, o texto especifica demandas para o aprofundamento da investigação nas áreas de formação de conceitos geográficos e de métodos de ensino.
