Abstract

A ecologia da Paisagem é uma ciência emergente, em plena discussão de seus conceitos epistemológicos. Objetiva por meio de uma multidisciplinariedade a compreensão da paisagem - as inter-relações homem, potencial ecológico e potencial biológico. Através de métodos de análises quantitativos e qualitativos, busca gestionar as paisagens remanescentes, uso e forma de apropriação pelas comunidades. Este artigo pretende levantar a composição das classes de Paisagem do terço final do curso do Rio Pitangui, Campos Gerais do Paraná. A área de estudo apresenta três unidades de paisagem sendo a própria matriz, a área de campo e de floresta. A diversidade da paisagem foi de 0,612 para uma Equitabilidade de 0,34 e Dominância de 0,84. Enfatiza-se a grande desproporção entre áreas antrópicas e remanescentes de vegetação nativa, devido tanto aos aspectos físico-naturais da paisagem bem como da forma com que ocorreu o uso e ocupação dessas áreas.
