Abstract

O artigo parte de preocupações voltadas para a categoria juventude(s), especialmente aquelas oriundas das camadas sociais pobres moradoras das periferias da Capital São Paulo, local onde a violência se agrava cotidianamente. Morar nas periferias dessa grande metrópole, para uma significativa parcela de jovens é estar exposto ao constante fenômeno da violência, aliado à condição de exclusão social, pois habitam espaços/territórios segregados e deteriorados. É nesta perspectiva que se pretende desenvolver a presente reflexão, pois as condições adversas vividas por esses jovens expressam a miséria social da qual não estão imunes, e ainda, justifica-se devido encontrarmos nas periferias os maiores índices de violência e crimes, que acomete as juventudes urbanas brasileiras.
