Abstract

The work of the Extension Center for Territorial Development of the Federal University of Grande Dourados (NEDET - UFGD) in the Southern Cone Citizenship Territory aims to foster activities, promote and stimulate the participation of organized civil society and local/regional public authorities in the Southern Cone Territorial Development Board, aiming to organize a collective, intercultural and multifunctional environment for internal coordination aimed at access to public policies for strengthening and sustainable rural development. The activities developed correspond to the time frame from December 2014 to December 2016, when opportunities and spaces were provided for direct dialogue with multiple organizations and sectors of civil society and local/regional public authorities, seeking to establish guidelines, discuss actions, programs and projects for territorial development and strengthening family farming in line with the local reality. It is concluded that NEDET Cone Sul/UFGD focused its work on supporting the development of family farming in the Territory of Citizenship Cone Sul, publicizing and encouraging access to public policies by family farmers, aiming at improving production, processing and marketing of healthy foods, improving food and nutrition, social inclusion and generating income for families to remain in the countryside, with better living conditions.
