Abstract

In celebration of Brazilian Journal of Climatology 20th anniversary, this article aims to analyse the scientific production published between 2005 and 2024. The articles were classified using criteria such as the central theme addressed, the climate element used, the theoretical and applied application, the time scales and territorial scopes, as well as the sector of climate science in which they are included. The impact of the articles was also demonstrated through the number of citations and downloads made, both of the articles and their authors. The institutions of origin and their geographic distribution were quantified. Thus, an overview of the journal's profile is presented and ends with an assessment of its contribution to scientific knowledge in climate science.
