Análisis de índices de precipitación a partir de datos BR-DWGD de la cuenca hidrográfica Terra Nova, Pernambuco

Resumen

Este estudio investigó la variabilidad temporal de los índices de precipitación en la cuenca del río Terra Nova, ubicada en el estado de Pernambuco, utilizando diferentes índices de precipitación climática. El Índice de Concentración de Precipitaciones (PCI), el Índice de Anomalía de Precipitaciones (RAI), el Índice de Intensidad Diaria Simple (SDII), además de índices absolutos como R0 mm, R0.1 mm y R50 mm, y el Mann-Kendall. Los datos utilizados consisten en series históricas de precipitación diaria del producto Brazil Daily Weather Gridded Data (BR-DWGD), que cubre el período de 1961 a 2022. El análisis reveló que la cuenca tenía un PCI promedio de 21 y un RAI promedio de - 0,14, lo que sugiere un patrón de sequía persistente y distribución irregular de las precipitaciones. Se encontró un promedio anual de 127 días sin precipitación, registrándose sólo siete años de precipitaciones diarias superiores a 50 mm. El SDII promedio rondaba los 6 mm/día, valor considerado uno de los más bajos de Brasil, según estudios anteriores. Se aplicó la prueba de Mann-Kendall con buen desempeño para identificar tendências, aunque no se detectaron tendências estadísticamente significativas en los índices y la precipitación a diferentes escalas. Este estudio demostró la capacidad de utilizar datos BR-DWGD para describir en detalle la metodología utilizada para evaluar el régimen de precipitaciones en las cuencas fluviales, ofreciendo una visión clara de los patrones hidrológicos rápidamente, siendo una herramienta útil para la gestión de los recursos hídricos.
