Abstract

Soil education, if properly applied, can be a valuable and widely used instrument to promote environmental awareness, thus broadening the perception of soil as an essential component of the environment. The present work had the objective of constructing a color library together with the professionals of the Association of Parents and Friends of the Exceptional of Mundo Novo/MS (APAE). In order to make it clear that environmental education on the subject is fundamental to develop the personal growth of an individual, since it guides him to care for and protect from a resource that is not renewable and presents an immeasurable importance for life on the planet. Therefore, the theme solos was worked in the Association of Parents and Friends of the Exceptional of Mundo Novo, Mato Grosso do Sul through a project of university extension within which it was possible to develop several workshops, one of them being the construction of a color library in order to express the different colorations of soils present in the municipality of Mundo Novo-MS. Thus, the APAE color-code from Mundo Novo-MS presented thirteen soil samples with a diversity of six color types according to the classification of the Munsell Chart.
