Abstract

Este artigo possui o objetivo de analisar a relação dos ciclos sistêmicos da economia mundial e os ciclos de guerra com a Guerra do Paraguai. O estudo desses ciclos pode contribuir para se entender o conflito platino e qualquer processo conjuntural que leve a uma reviravolta na ordem política, social e geopolítica. Guerra do Paraguai que foi resultado das conjunturas econômicas do século XIX, definidas por mudanças hegemônicas na esfera mundial. Conflito que foi explorado pelas pretensões políticas e econômicas norte-americanas, já que seu governo vislumbrava o domínio regional e a suplantação da influência Britânica no continente sul-americano.
