Abstract

This article intends to analyze the different words about the place of the feast of Santa Edwiges, which takes place on October 16 in the city of Pouso Alegre, located in the south of the state of Minas Gerais, in order to search for the different memories and experiences by different social actors who organize and participate in the event. The documentary corpus is composed of oral narratives, which make it possible to understand how social subjects experience the festive period, listing different issues; also work with photographs that belong to the residents of the neighborhood, opportunize register the space and relations of the subjects with the space of the party. Thus, it is sought to understand the celebration as a temporal reference in the life of the community.

Doutorando no Programa de Pós-Graduação em Ciências da Linguagem da Universidade do Vale do Sapucaí. Mestre em História Social pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo. É membro do Núcleo de Estudos Culturais: Histórias, Memórias e Perspectivas do Presente (PUC-SP). Graduado em História pela Universidade do Vale Sapucaí - Pouso Alegre (2012) . Formado pelo Curso Livre de Filosofia pela Faculdade Católica de Pouso Alegre (2006). Docente do Curso de História da Universidade do Vale do Sapucaí. Foi Coordenador da Área de História do PIBID/Univás (2016 a 2018) . Coordenador do Laboratório de História Oral (LHO) da Univás. Coordenador Interino do Curso de História da Universidade do Vale do Sapucaí. Pesquisa nas seguintes temáticas: Cultura, Cidade, Memória, Festejos e Ensino de História.
