O presente artigo surgiu a partir das aulas de História da Imigração na América Latina junto ao mestrado de história da UNISINOS. Tem como objetivo principal abordar algumas das migrações que Francisca Pereira Pinto realizou ao longo do século XIX buscando analisar situações ligadas à trajetória da mulher que fez parte do processo de povoamento e colonização da fronteira oeste do Rio Grande do Sul. Nesse sentido, apresentaremos alguns dos papéis que ela assumiu ao longo de suas andanças, entre os quais o de viúva. Haja vista que, após ter assumido tal condição passou a gerenciar negócios, bem como, não titubeou em recorrer a diferentes instâncias do poder a fim de fazer valer seus direitos, defendendo muito mais do que patrimônio, pois o que estava em jogo era seu reconhecimento social, sua respeitabilidade e o nome da família que ela representava.Downloads
