Abstract

A Revolução Mexicana foi um marco na história do país e teve desdobramentos por todo o século XX. O intenso caráter popular manifestado em diversos conflitos abriu um espaço para as classes populares, até então à margem da vida política mexicana. O elemento popular, mesmo não sendo plenamente atendido, não pode mais ser ignorado. As artes e a literatura exerceram um papel importante na reflexão sobre a Revolução Mexicana, atuando muitas vezes de forma crítica. Neste artigo pretendo analisar a visão crítica de Mariano Azuela, conhecido escritor mexicano, a respeito da Revolução, mostrando como seu posicionamento político influenciou sua escrita.
