“Naturalmente o colono deverá cooperar”: a produção do discurso de atraso agrícola de itapiranga (sc)

Abstract

O texto analisa os discursos produzidos em Itapiranga nas décadas de 1950 e 1960 acerca das condições de produção e de vida do espaço rural. Nesse sentido, analisam-se os nuances e as perspectivas desenvolvimentistas da Comissão Municipal de Desenvolvimento Econômico, da retórica veiculada na imprensa local e nas conclusões e apontamentos presentes no Relatório de Desenvolvimento Econômico de Itapiranga. O objetivo é de analisar a compreensão que se criou em relação às condições do espaço rural como sendo um dos entraves ao processo desenvolvimentista decorrente de práticas consideradas atrasadas e pouco rentáveis, discurso que se insere no complexo jogo de modernização da agricultura transcorrido no período.

É doutorando em História pela Universidade Federal da Grande Dourados - UFGD e bolsista CAPES/Demanda Social; mestre em Letras pela mesma universidade e graduado em História pela Universidade Estadual de Mato Grosso do Sul - UEMS. Atualmente, é professor de Literatura e Artes no Centro Educacional Luiz Quareli. É integrante da Linha de Pesquisa Fronteira, Identidades e Representações, além de ser editor da Revista História em Reflexão, do Programa de Pós-Graduação da Universidade Federal da Grande Dourados
