“Todo se cambia, incluso el paisaje”: memórias indígenas e migração Camba-Chiquitano

O artigo apresenta a história de um grupo indígena, os Kamba, que vivem na fronteira Brasil-Bolívia desde o início da segunda metade do século XX. Parte da história dos índios foi recuperada por meio das memórias de anciãos, migrantes da Bolívia e atualmente moradores do município de Corumbá, Estado de Mato Grosso do Sul. A partir de elementos da História Ambiental é revelada uma trajetória de busca por uma vida melhor em terras de outro país, além da luta pelo reconhecimento da presença indígena no Brasil. Os Kamba ou Camba-Chiquitano se deslocaram das tierras bajas e, ao se instalarem na periferia de Corumbá, enfrentarem condições inóspitas em relação ao meio ambiente. Transformar o mundo natural que os rodeava, transformando-se também, sem deixarem de ser indígenas, foi um desafio aos membros do grupo.Downloads
